Team Italy Senders
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15. And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:13-15a)
Looking at this passage, and the example that the church in Antioch set when sending out the Apostle Paul (Acts 13), we see the necessity for each missionary family to be sent to the field with a strong team of believers back home supporting them. We have identified five areas of support that we feel are important to the ministry, and have comprised a team of people to facilitate in these areas, with our team director coordinating the efforts of the entire team.

The director of Team Italy is responsible for the overall organization and leadership of the entire support team. He has regular communication with the Barone family to stay current on updates, needs, and encouraging news. The Barone’s desire their ministry to be bathed in prayer, and that the power of God would rest on their efforts. They realize that without our Sovereign God awakening souls in Italy, all efforts to win them to Christ will be in vain. Ministry to the Barone children is crucial. Understanding that they won’t have a host of friends on the field highlights the importance of ensuring they have friends in the states that care for them and will minister to them. The body of Christ is much more likely to pray for missionaries that they are familiar with and well informed about. This is why it is imperative for them to be well acquainted with the Barone’s while they are in Italy. While doing the Lord’s work can be the most rewarding life possible, the devil will certainly explore ways to demoralize those laboring to save souls. Whether it is being away from family and friends, the difference in culture, or the thought of being “out of sight, out of mind” to those back in the states, discouragement is possible. This fact makes the job of encouraging the missionary pivotal. The Encouragement team seeks creative ways to inspire the Barone family throughout the year to minimize possible discouragement.
